If you are searching a program to help you learn and perform Opera, in real time podium experience in rehearsals and concert performances, the Pehlivanian Professional Opera Academy is a unique opportunity that will allow ample hours of conducting, rehearsing, training and performances on tour.
Maestro Pehlivanian is highly experienced in training conductors both in the symphonic and operatic worlds, and has designed the Academy so that every conductor that is accepted will have the needed podium time to improve immensly the art of Opera Conducting after the completion of the PPOA program.
• 16 Rehearsals with piano and singers
• 8 rehearsals with orchestra
• And 9 professional performances of the Opera on tour in different venues in Slovenia, will guarantee your capacity to considerably improve your skills as an Opera Conductor.
Conductors interested in mastering the art of Opera conducting are welcome to send your applications to be an active conductor in PPOA 2026 edition, by February 28, 2026
Participation in PPOA is a tuition-based opportunity.
Daily and intense professional, one on one coachings will be administered by artists like Fügen Yigitgil (Chief Correpetitor, PPOA 2026), Janez Lotric, Domenico Balzani, Lavinia Bini and Maestro Pehlivanian himself.
20 Rehearsals with piano, 8 rehearsals with orchestra and the possibility to perform up to 9 performances in your given roles on tour, professional stages, are just the beginning of the learning experience with PPOA 2026.
Singers are welcome to send in audition tapes / You tube videos and an application form, in order to be considered as an Academy Artist with PPOA 2026.
We want conductors and singers from all over the globe to have this opportunity to perform and train under the best conditions available.
Roles will be discussed on one on one basis with Maestro Pehlivanian.
Limited tuition (no guarantees) scholarships, for singers will be available upon demand and application, administered by Maestro Pehlivanian.
